Introductory Class offerings in Nordic Walking
Come try walking with Nordic Walking poles thru the woods in your local area park. Rhea Kontos, a certified Nordic Walking instructor, recently acquired her Master Naturalist certification. During the walk, she’ll share some interesting facts about the Big Woods such as how they were made and identify plants and creatures that claim this biome. Nordic Walking uses 90% of your muscles and burns more calories and distributes your weight so your knees don't have to do all the work. Demo Nordic Walking poles provided. Trekking/Hiking poles are not the same. This class is geared to those that they can walk 45-60 minutes, including small hills, with confidence. Wear comfortable shoes with a good tread, carry water, and if desired, a small camera. Nordic Walking poles available for purchase after class.
